So last night I finished a bit more of the double retrospect, (DR now in all topic titles) I did some assembly, and now have few enough pieces to place on a single tray...
Another hour of work =)
A half hour later, as you can see I added the orange/black piece where the pieces were slightly uneven, and it fits perfectly... I guess it's correct =D
I have to protect my puzzle, as I'm sure any puzzler knows, or anyone who does anything involving small pieces, or anyone who owns a computer... okay lets just take it down to cat owners in general, in anything you do, it's a cats mission to undo it, or mess it up to the point of no return... So I have to lay my chart on top of any loose ends when not actively puzzling (or even when I leave the room) and I have to stack an empty tray over the single pieces that I've sorted... I'm just glad I found a way of storing my pieces that aren't in use, or i'd have pieces scattered around the room (and maybe even the house)
My puzzle drawers =) Appropriated from my moms craft room (they're usually closed =P)
In other news, I got a Disney puzzle which I had ordered all the way from japan like two months ago...
It's a stained glass representation of Disney throughout the years, and I think it's absolutely stunning, this will of course be assembled on my desk which I'm working on Double Retrospect on the floor.
The one thing I'm a bit disappointed is the fact that the 1,000 version of this same puzzle is apparently done using semi transparent pieces, while this version is solid normal pieces. I still love it, and I believe the additional challenge is much more attractive than semi transparent pieces (since I don't plan to glue it)
the full puzzle, it came with a product pamphlet, and puzzle glue, which I immediately threw away as I never plan to glue it, and I don't want a bag to burst causing a gluey mess
some detail pictures
I'm sorry for the lower quality images, however I just cannot seem to make my stupid camera take close up pictures with any decent quality, as you can see the following image is much more colorful, yet it's slightly blurry (and this was one of the better tries, most of them were MUCH worse) yet while my vita sucks at taking distant photos, it excls in the detail department, so I think i'd prefer less colorful images with decent quality, to blurry images.
As you can see, it's full normal shaped pieces with a nice glossy finish...
the back of the box, it has a number for each image, to help identify the cartoon (as if most of us need it) as well as a short paragraph of what I assume is a brief description of the movie (As I cannot read japanese, I have no clue)
What a beautiful puzzle. I love the stained glass look. Gorgeous! That will be a really fun one to do. Do you have a basement in your house? That might be a good place to turn into a puzzle room, if your parents (assuming that's where you live since you say you have "a room") would allow it. Then you wouldn't feel so cramped in your room.
ReplyDeleteMy mom started to suggest that... but then I reminded her that not only does our basement flood, but it's also freezing in the winter =) My rooms not too bad though...
ReplyDeleteAhh, I guess it's an unfinished basement then? We're very blessed. Our basement is finished, and doesn't leak. So we have heat and air down there too. What a bummer. Oh well....just move all your other stuff out and then you'll have plenty of room to puzzle! LOL
ReplyDeleteyeah, and honestly, my room is the only place in which I trust my puzzle, it's the one place in the house where I wouldn't be worried about losing pieces...
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense. It just looked like, from some of your pictures, that space was pretty limited in your room. That's why I was asking about the basement. But yeah, it's nice to have one place for it permanently that doesn't move. Less chance of losing pieces. My first section of Life was worked on in a couple of different rooms, and ultimately finished in a different house altogether. So, I actually considered myself lucky to only be missing one piece!
